Relative to having a Stereo repair shop that sees maybe a few GAS products a year, we provide a high quality consistent rebuild. We’ve been doing it for 38 years and were GAS’ first and only East Coast warranty station (in NY at the time)

In the Restoration Rebuild, we retain the best of the original parts and upgrade the rest. Your amp or preamp is disassembled, the boards are cleaned to remove contaminating films built-up over thirty years, electronic components are replaced, controls are cleaned, and connectors replaced as warranted. Our 38 years of experience coupled with an excellent stock of individual parts selected for reliability and fidelity allows us to provide a very through upgrade at a very reasonable price.
The intent of the Restoration Rebuild is to walk the line between providing the best sonic performance and reliability without going overboard into many of the smaller details that exponentially add time and cost for a subtler return on your investment. We consider this to be one of the most inexpensive ways to get true High-end performance without taking a second on the house.

Work overview
(varies by amp or preamp):
- Repair functional problems. Re- soldering questionable solder joints to power devices, controls, switches and connectors.
- Perform reliability updates including replacement of all known problem prone and stressed parts.
- Replacement of electrolytic caps and critical resistors in signal paths and power supplies with higher quality film caps and low noise ½ watt resistors.
- Replace Bias and offset calibration controls with 25 turn trim pots.
- Main input/output connectors used in an average system are upgraded. (All can be replaced)
- Critical connections in the signal path and power supplies are either replaced with new connectors or direct soldered and insulated.
- An IEC power connector is installed to allow the use of upgraded power cords
- Input stage small signal transistors are upgraded to low noise versions as warranted by the model and function
- All circuit cards are cleaned and degreased. Chassis rust is removed and the chassis sealed.
